What is Temporary Transit? 

The Temporary Transit (TT) is an attractive alternative to car rental in Europe.

Temporary Transit is a French tax and customs free based on the system of temporary admission. It allows anyone residing outside the European Union or in a French Territory overseas (DOM-TOM), to rent and operate a new car during his stay in Europe without paying from customs duties and VAT.

Temporary transit enables you to register your vehicle in France and circulate freely throughout Europe.

Who can benefit from Peugeot Open Europe contract ? 
  • Your main residence is outside the European Union or in the French overseas departments and territories?
  • You will be staying less than 175 days over a period of twelve consecutive months in a European Union member country?
  • You are not engaged in any remunerated activity in a European Union member country?

Whatever your nationality, you can benefit from our duty-free Peugeot Open Europe offer!

Don't forget, you must be 18 years or over and have a permanent driver’s license that is both valid and recognized in the countries to which you plan to travel (international driver’s license).

Are students eligible for a PEUGEOT OPEN EUROPE contract? 

Students can benefits from a PEUGEOT OPEN EUROPE vehicle contract for a period of up to one year under the following conditions:

  • Your main residence must be outside the European Union or in the overseas territories (DOM-TOM).
  • You must be currently studying in an institution or university located in the European Union and must not exceed a total of 355 days.

  • Present a valid school certificate for the period of the contract.
  • You must not exercise a remunerated activity in a country of the European Union.

  • You must be 18 years of age and have a driver’s license that is both valid and recognized in the countries that you plan to visit.

(International driver’s license).

BEFORE YOUR RESERVATION

How do I reserve a PEUGEOT OPEN EUROPE vehicle? 

If you live in a country which is eligible to the online booking, you can directly make your booking through the website www.peugeot-openeurope.com
Alternatively, you can request a quote on the site www.peugeot-openeurope.com under the category "Your online quote", your application will be forwarded to the Peugeot Open Europe representative from your country who will contact you as soon as possible.
You will be asked to sign an order form containing all the information necessary for your reservation (type of vehicle, any accessories, dates and places of delivery and return, flight details for airport deliveries, etc.) and to supply the following documents:
• passport (or identity card for French overseas departments/territories)
• holiday certificate stating holiday dates
• certificate of residence (for French nationals)
Students must also :
• Supply a certificate of attendance stating the dates on which classes start and end.
• For provisional licences, supply a document with the date of first issue. This document can be obtained from the Vehicle Registration Department of your country of residence.

How far in advance should I reserve a car? 

For administrative reasons, the reservation must be made at least 28 days before the delivery date of your vehicle.

What is the delay for a quote? 

Your business agent will answer to your quote request as soon as possible (usually within 48 hours).

You can get in touch also directly with him by email or telephone.

How much does the delivery and return of my vehicle cost?  

- In France the delivery and return of the vehicle is free (as well for Geneva and San Sebastian)
- In the rest of Europe, fees vary according to the country.

On the other hand, once the order is placed, if you wish to change the delivery or return site, please call customer service at least 4 working days before the end of your contract.

Which payment methods are accepted are accepted? 

For the online booking, you can pay with a Visa, a Mastercard, a blue card or American Express.
This information concerns only the people who benefits from the access to the E-commerce of our web site in their country of connection.

If you order through your Peugeot Open Europe representative in your country, please ask him the method payment which is accepted.

DURING THE RESERVATION

Can I choose the color of my car? 

It is not possible to choose the color of the car. We can’t guarantee it.

Will the vehicle be delivered with a safety kit (jacket, jack, etc.)? 

All vehicles delivered in France will contain a roadside safety kit.

Are vehicle accessories charged to me (snow tires, baby seats, bicycle racks, etc.)? 

You may add accessories when making your order. Accessories will be billed separately at prices based upon the vehicle selected.

Accessory orders must be included in the reservation and order forms and may not be made after vehicle delivery.

In winter, does vehicles comes with snow tires? 

The chains we offer are snow-tire chains that are easily and quickly mounted without having to move the vehicle.

The original tires mounted on factory-issued Peugeot brand vehicles are deemed multi-purpose.  This means they are suited for differing driving conditions excluding however extreme conditions involving the presence of large amounts of snow and/or water on pavement.

Peugeot Open Europe cannot mount specialty tires such as "snow" or "contact" tires on its vehicles.

If you decide to equip your vehicle with special tires, you can do it at your expense and you will have to return the car with the original tires.

Important Note:

Customers are responsible for consulting officials in each country in which they will be traveling about any and all roadway accessory requirements. Peugeot Sodexa may not be held liable for the provision of such accessories.

Does the vehicle have to be returned with its original tires? 

Yes, the vehicle must be returned in the same condition it was delivered in. Although it is possible to keep accessories, the original tires must also be returned.

AFTER YOUR RESERVATION

What are the documents you must furnish to pick up your car? 

To take possession of your PEUGEOT OPEN EUROPE vehicle, you must furnish the following documents:

  • Your Peugeot Open Europe contract
  • Your driving license
  • Your valid passport 
How is the vehicle delivered?  

We will be waiting for you at the time and place chosen for your delivery during our booking. However, if you had not informed them, it is imperative to contact the delivery center 4 working days before your arrival.

Note: For appointments without flight information, we will wait for you a maximum of 30 minutes after the appointed time. In case of a flight change or appointment time change, it is imperative to inform your delivery center.

Who can pick up the vehicle? 

Only the contract holder (his/her name is written on the vehicle registration certificate) or his/her spouse or partner carrying a proxy form, can take delivery of the vehicle.

Only a legal spouse or de facto (spouse or partner) may benefit from a proxy established and signed by the contractor. A partner must provide a certificate of cohabitation.

Will Peugeot deliver my vehicle to me at my hotel? 

Peugeot Open Europe will only provide vehicles for pickup at the Centers listed on our website. All vehicles are supplied at airports (except Paris 16) per customer travel arrangements.

You can consult our 36 centers of delivery and return (21 in France and 15 in the rest of Europe), in the section "Center" of the web site.

At the delivery, is my vehicle delivered with some fuel? 

Your vehicle is delivered with a subsidy of fuel from 10 to 15 liters which will allow you to drive easily up to the closest gas station.

If you want your Peugeot delivered with a full tank, please choose the accessory «full of fuel «during your reservation.

How do I return the vehicle?  

You must schedule a delivery date with your Drop-Off Center at least 4 business days in advance. Vehicles must be returned to a Peugeot Open Europe Center (see the list and directions in Delivery and Drop-off section of our website). Any expenses incurred as a result of drop-offs at any other location will be billed to you.

Warning:

- You are expected to return your vehicle within 30 minutes of the time you have indicated to your drop-off center.

- Vehicles must be returned to the location specified in your contract. If you return your vehicle to another location than the one specified, charges will be billed to you.

How can I know if my payment has been accepted? 

You will receive a confirmation email on your mailbox you gave during the booking with the process to finish your booking.

In case of payment failure, you booking request will appear on your booking records in your customer account. You will have a 48 hours period to pay it.

Otherwise your booking will be automatically cancelled.

This information concerns only the people who benefits from the access to the E-commerce of our web site in their country of connection.

Can I cancel my order after the payment? 

In order to cancel your booking, please send a request to contact-poe@mpsa.com.

You will be charged of 50€ for any cancellation requested more than 21 days before the delivery date of your vehicle.

You will be charged of 300 € for any cancellation requested less than 21 days before the delivery date of your vehicle.

You will be charged of 800 € if the vehicle is registered at your name.

You will then be refunded the difference on your credit card promptly, after deduction of cancelation fees. The difference will be paid on your bank card.

How do I know if my order is finalized? 

When your order is completed you will receive a confirmation email informing you that your order and your documents have been validated.

You can also see the status of your order in "my account my orders" enter "contracted".

How do I find a map of my delivery/drop-off location? 

To obtain maps of the pickup and drop-off locations of your vehicle, visit the website www.peugeot.openeurope.com section “Centers”. 

DURING THE CONTRACT

Who can drive the vehicle? 

Those who can drive the vehicle are:

- The contract holder (his/her name is written on the vehicle registration certificate)
- The spouse, descendants, direct ascendants of the contract holder provided that they fulfill the same conditions of obtaining temporary transit registration as the contract holder.

Important:

It is impossible to add or change a name on the vehicle registration certificate or on the international automobile insurance card.

Remark:

To drive in Europe, it is necessary to be at least 18 and possess a valid and definitive driver's license and valid in the countries traveling in.

How can I prolong my contract? 

Phone CUSTOMER SERVICE at least 4 working days before the end of your contract. This service is available Monday to Friday (except French holidays) from 9 am to 5 pm:

- In France: 01 56 47 61 61

- Outside of France: +33 1 56 47 61 61

Note: The contract cannot be extended beyond the end of the validity date on the vehicle registration certificate.

Can I return my vehicle in advance?  

Yes you can returning the vehicle in advance

Cumulative conditions must be met in order to receive a partial refund for the "unused portion" of the contract:

 - The advance return have to be at least 7 days prior the expiration date of the initial contract.

- The minimum length of initial contract is 30 days.

In cases of the contract extension, the contract will not be reimbursed if you return the vehicle before the end date of the extension.

You must send a written request for partial reimbursed to the local representative from whom you purchased the contract or at contact-poe@mpsa.com by sending your attestation of restitution.

 

How can I change the place of return?  

Phone CUSTOMER SERVICE at least 4 working days before the end of your contract. This service is available Monday to Friday (except French bank holidays) from 9am to 5pm:

- In France: 01 56 47 61 61

- Outside of France: +33 1 56 47 61 61

CUSTOMER SERVICE, at your request, could send you a map of the new site chosen by e-mail or by fax. This map is also available on our Internet site www.peugeot-openeurope.com under the category Delivery & Return.

Important: For sites outside of France (except Geneva), this change will entail a supplementary cost payable by credit card to CUSTOMER SERVICE.

What happens if I travel in a country not covered by the insurance? 

If you decide to travel in a country not covered by the insurance/the assistance, your civil & penal liability is engaged and you will have to pay for all the costs linked to the damages or to the breakdown. No territorial extension is possible concerning the insurance contract.

END OF THE CONTRACT

Can I buy my car?  

You can purchase the TT vehicle; a great deal for yourself, a friend or family member which takes into account the duration of use under the Temporary Transit agreement. Contact the PEUGEOT OPEN EUROPE TT purchasing service directly at least 15 days before the end of your contract, Monday to Friday (except French bank holidays) from 9am to 5pm only:

At the end of the contract, do accessories belong to me? 

All accessories offered must be licensed by Peugeot Automobiles.

We are prohibited from supplying accessories outside the Peugeot Network.

All accessories are the property of the customer who may opt to keep them at the end of the contract.

What documents I have to return with the vehicle? 

At the end of your contract you have to give at your drop off center:

-          The vehicle registration certificate or provisal registration certificate

-          The 2 keys to the vehicle

-          Any SD cars

-          The vehicle maintenance booklet

-          The insurance certificate

-          The safety kit : safety vest and triangle


Important: All non-returned items will be billed to you and debited from your bank account, even in the event of theft.

Our agent will ask you to sign a double copy of the vehicle receipt (French-English) stating the vehicle’s mileage and any returned or missing items. You will keep a copy of this document.

INSURANCE & ASSISTANCE

What do I do in case of an incident (breakdown, theft, attempted theft, accident)...?  

Step 1: fill in the necessary documents

- In case of an accident: draw up an accident report with the parties involved
- In case of attempted theft or act of vandalism: make a detailed declaration and lodge an official complaint with the police
- In case of theft: make a detailed declaration and lodge an official complaint with the police

Step 2: open an insurance file

- Send a copy by email to das@ima.eu

Step 3: have the vehicle taken care of

- In case of an accident or attempted theft or act of vandalism that requires repairs: bring the vehicle to a Peugeot authorized repair garage.

The Peugeot Open Europe policy is valid all European countries, and is multi-risk irrespective of percentage coverage for:

What maintenance does a TT vehicle need?  

You will find the list of necessary periodic servicing in your vehicle’s maintenance notebook. These servicing costs are your responsibility.

Important:

The servicing must imperatively be done in a Peugeot authorized repair garage.

Caution:

It is highly recommended to verify the vehicle’s oil level, water level and tire pressure at least once every 1000 kilometers.
